Demonstrations and Workshops

Tell me and I will forget.
Show me and I may remember.
Involve me and I will understand.
― Confucius

Demonstrations and Workshops of ancestral ethnic arts, presented by Master Artisans who continue to practice the customs of their forebears, provide visitors with an unparalleled, immersive experience that brings material culture alive and draws them closer to the essence of a people’s worldview.

Using the elements of nature, all ethnic groups of the Golden Triangle have developed sophisticated skills in creating home, supporting family, dressing the body, and honoring deities. Meaningful constructions and symbols that reflect their history and heritage take form in their handwork–their implements, garments, musical instruments, and ritual paraphernalia.

Cultural Crossroads Asia believes in showcasing craftsmen and -women adept in silversmithing, weaving, embroidery, batik-dyeing, basketry, woodwork, and musical instruments as a way to foster these practices to continue into the future and to inspire visitors with the wonder of their creations.
