2026 Symposium
STeP Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Melodies and Motifs in the Mountains, a multimedia exhibit from the Cultural Crossroads Asia collections, was created to welcome ethnomusicologists from around the world attending the International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance 2026 Symposium to Chiang Mai.
Featuring ethnic instruments and textiles, photographs and music, this display offers visitors an immersive experience that explores the spectacular age-old sights, songs, stories, and spirits of this corner of the world.

A heartfelt thank you to Victoria, founder of Cultural Crossroads Asia (CCA), for bringing this wonderful exhibition to the ICTMD Joint Symposium in Chiang Mai. What you have been doing is truly incredible. Your work reflects a profound sense of humanistic care and warmth. Every piece is deeply inspiring and genuinely moving. The exhibition greatly enriched the symposium by broadening our perspectives and creating another important space for dialogue across the three Study Groups.
