Collections of the Cultural Crossroads Asia Heritage Center

Powerful traditions that echo ancient wisdom
inspire new worlds.

Artifacts from the Cultural Crossroads Asia Heritage Center offer visitors, in person and on-line, an immersive experience to explore the cultural, historical, and spiritual significance they have on the people who make, use, and wear them.  Amassed by documentarian Victoria Vorreiter as the Songs of Memory Archives over two decades, this body of work highlights the ancestral music, ceremonies, and cultures of the six major ethnic groups in the Golden Triangle – the Karen, Hmong, Iu Mien, Akha, Lahu, and Lisu.  Each item, whether crafted by a master artisan, spirit intermediary, musician, headman, or man, woman, or child, represents a unique world with profound personal and communal resonance, connecting all who came before with all who will follow.

With hundreds of individual pieces in the CCA Heritage Center’s Collections, we are carefully compiling their details for you.  Please check back periodically to see this treasure trove of Textiles, Musical Instruments, and Artifacts.
